1. AmiWest 2015 and related events will be October 14-18, 2015.

The 18th AmiWest show will be held in Sacramento, CA.

Yes, AmiWest returns for an 18th show! The Sacramento Amiga Computer Club proudly presents AmiWest 2015 at the Holiday Inn Express, 2224 Auburn Blvd., Sacramento, CA. We are currently negotiating with the hotel for room rates for this year and will post them as soon as they are available.

This year, we celebrate 30 years of the Amiga community. Little did anyone realize 30 years ago what shape the Amiga community would be in 30 years later. We're not sure anyone even thought about it those terms then. And Amiga has become a community, somewhat unique in the world of IT.

Dates for the show are October 16-18, 2015. Dates for related events begin on the evening of October 14 and continue until the afternoon of October 16. Watch this blog for more information on the related events being planned now!

So come a participate with us at AmiWest 2015. Our webpage is currently being restructured so that you can use it better to become a sponsor, an exhibitor, a presenter, and an attendee. Thanks for the feedback we have received in this regard. It helps us do the show better.

And watch this blog for the latest information.

2. April 29, 2015 Steven Solie is "Game on!" for Amiga DevCon 2015

The Fourth Amiga DevCon (aka Programming Seminar) to be held October 15th & 16th, 2015 at the AmiWest venue.

Steven Solie, Hyperion Development Team leader and OS4.x architect, has confirmed that there will be a 2015 Amiga DevCon preceding AmiWest 2015!. He's excited about it and is already developing seminar materials for the event.

The aim of the 2015 DevCon and the three preceding conferences has always been to add new developers to the ranks of Amiga programmers. Prerequisites for this year's event include downloading and installing the most recent SDK, to be available shortly, and having OS4.1 Final Edition installed and running on your Amiga to bring to the DevCon. Steve also recommends reviewing posted materials from the previous three conferences on the Amiga Developer wiki as well as the other materials posted there as background for this year's DevCon.

Be prepared for a full two days of Amiga "C" programming hosted by some of the world's best AmigaOS programmers. Steve requests that as many of the participants as possible arrive by the evening of Wednesday October 14th to set up your software and equipment so that the DevCon can start promptly at 9 AM on Thursday, October 15. Go to the 2015 AOSPS page to fill out the registration form, whose dates will be updated soon. Go ahead and fill in your information anyway and we'll get it without delay. Cost is the same as in previous years.

AmiWest 2015 is rolling! You don't want to miss it! Go to amiwest.net for more information and watch this blog for breaking news!

1. July 27, 2015 Amiga 30th a Great Success

SACC and AmiWest exhibit at Amiga 30th

Our friend Bill Borsari and a cast of at least 40 volunteers staged the Amiga 30th celebration at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, California. We had hoped that a couple hundred people would show up. Over 450 people attended.

Many of our AmiWest friends were there, too. Steve Solie of Hyperion, Trevor Dickinson of A-EON, developers Alex Carmona, Alex Perez and Dave Morris, architect Paul Sadlik (who did the show hall floor plans), Robert Goodlet, Bill Borsari, and many others were exhibitors and key personnel for the effort. See YouTube for videos and pix.

AmiWest and the Sacramento Amiga Computer Club were also there as exhibitors. Our role as an active Amiga user group was noted by attendees and we had many interesting conversations about our club and the AmiWest 2015 show in Sacramento, CA. We gained a new sponsor for the show and eight new club members signed up as well.

AmiWest 2015 and associated events will be October 14-18, 2015 at the Holiday Inn Express, 2224 Auburn Blvd., Sacramento,CA. Make your plans to attend now. If you've attended before, bring one other person who is new to the show. If this will be your first time, welcome to the show! See our website at amiwest.net for the latest information and watch this blog for breaking news about the show. See you in October!

2. July 27, 2015 A-EON confirms as AmiWest sponsor.

A-EON to sponsor AmiWest 2015

A-EON continues to sponsor AmiWest for 2015. Trevor Dickinson, director of A-EON and funder of new Amiga hardware and software projects, is planning yet another "future forward" exhibit for AmiWest 2015.

New A-EON announcements will be made at AmiWest 2015. Continuing their practice of recent years, A-EON will again be announcing new developments in hardware and software for 2015 and beyond. Of course, you need to attend to find out what those announcments are and how you can participate in them.

Remember - AmiWest 2015 and associated events will be October 14-18, 2015 at the Holiday Inn Express, 2224 Auburn Blvd., Sacramento, CA. Make your plans to attend now. If you've attended before, bring one other person who is new to the show. If this will be your first time, welcome to the show! See our website at amiwest.net for the latest information and watch this blog for breaking news about the show. See you in October!

3. July 28, 2015 SACC blog re-established

The SACC blog opens on a new server

President Deneen re-opens the SACC blog. Due to changes in our hosting service, the SACC blog had become unavailable. The new SACC blog is now available at amiwest.info/sacc2015blog.

We wanted to let everyone who attends AmiWest know. The SACC blog is concerned with our club news and views, to some extent replacing the "current" section of our old newsletter. We will try to make this a true weblog with news of concern to current, new and potential members of the Sacramento Amiga Computer Club.

Be sure to see the blog soon for postings relating to SACC and our activities. Our club website is located at sacc.org. Our webmaster, Bill Clay, does a fine job of maintaining that site and is always on the look-out for new information to include. See the site for contact information.

4. July 29, 2015 Exhibiting at AmiWest 2015

New & returning exhibitors sought for AmiWest 2015

We always get questions about how to exhibit and/or sponsor AmiWest. In years past, we had employed a text form to fill out and return to us for this purpose. Last year, we employed an online form to fill out, thanks to Bill Borsari and his efforts at posting the form and collecting the information.

Our exhibitor form is located here. Please fill out the form and let us know what you would like to exhibit at AmiWest 2015. If the dates are last year's dates when you get to the page, go ahead and use the form anyway. We will respond with cost information and an invoice for your level of involvement, be it exhibitor or show sponsor.

AmiWest 2015 and associated events will be October 14-18, 2015 at the Holiday Inn Express, 2224 Auburn Blvd., Sacramento, CA. Make your plans to attend now. If you've attended before, bring one other person who is new to the show. If this will be your first time, welcome to the show! See our website at amiwest.net for the latest information and watch this blog for breaking news about the show. See you in October!

1. August 4, 2015 AmiWest 2015 Banquet caterer secured

Hannibal's to cater AmiWest 2015 banquet.

Hannibal's, one of Sacramento's leading caterers, will cater the AmiWest 2015 banquet. In California's capital, the competition for catering special events is keen. Many events at the state level and the many corporations with major presence here, including Intel, Oracle, Hewlett-Packard and Compaq, require the finest available catering and event food service.

We are fortunate to secure the services of Hannibals for AmiWest. This year, we will also feature a 30th anniversary Amiga-themed sheet cake for dessert. And other special dinner features are in the works.

The AmiWest banquet program will also be presented. Along with the SACC presentations, other announcements and features will be presented for your information and (hopefully) enjoyment. As we know that Amigans enjoy all things Amiga, we are confident that you will want to attend.

Please sign up early for your banquet tickets! Admission to the show floor is free of charge; the banquet is not. Please see the link at the top of this blog page and sign up for your banquet tickets now. Don't worry if the date on the banquet page isn't current. Your reservation will still be processed. We'll get those dates taken care of soon.

2. August 7, 2015 Show Sponsers - CastAR

CastAR to Sponsor AmiWest 2015!

CastAR, the new virtual reality game platform, is a new AmiWest sponsor! While talking with Jeri Ellsworth and her colleagues at Amiga 30 at Mountain View in July, we presented the opportunity to sponsor AmiWest 2015. After some discussion, they agreed.

We are all looking forward to what they will bring to the show. If you saw the exhibit at Amiga 30, you will want to come and see it again. If not, you will be astounded at what happens when you put on a pair of virtual reality goggles then look at the CastAR board. I'll say no more. You have to come to AmiWest to see it in Sacramento.

3. August 29, 2015 AmiWest Hotel Room Rates

Holiday Inn Express Room Rates for AmiWest 2015

AmiWest organizers Chuck Washburn and Brian Deneen met with Holiday Inn Express management yesterday. This was part of our ongoing contact with them to ensure that AmiWest 2015 runs smoothly.

The subject of greatest interest was hotel rates for AmiWest. The rates are as follows:

Please use the link at the top of this blog page to make your reservations.

We have blocks of rooms set aside for our reservations, checking in on October 14 through October 18, 2015, checking out on the 19th. Any or all of the dates should give our group rate. The website group rate code is the same, "AMI" without the quotes.

Make your reservations now!The sooner you make your reservation, the sooner we can tell if we will need more rooms in our reservation blocks. That is why we ask you to make your reservations now.

Your credit card is not charged until you check out. Staying at the hotel helps AmiWest keep our preferred rate on the rest of our expenses. You will not find a better room at these rates anywhere in Sacramento!

The real savings happens when you share a room with another attendee. Obviously sharing cuts the costs in half. That makes it a real bargain!

4. August 30, 2015 Amigakit to Sponsor AmiWest

Amigakit returns for AmiWest 2015

AmiWest welcomes Amigakit and crew to AmiWest 2015! Matthew Leaman and company have supported AmiWest for many years with the best in Classic Amiga hardware and software. Now, as distributors for A-EON and part of their development team, they are also in the forefront of AmigaOS NG hardware.

We have always found Matthew to be very positive and upbeat. He is working very hard to support Amiga users throughout the world, keeping our machines running. New efforts include:

So come to AmiWest and see Amigakit! You can't meet and talk with Matthew and his crew if you don't come. The time is getting closer and you are invited!

1. September 1, 2015 Intuitionbase returns to AmiWest 2015

Intuitionbase extends their attendance @ AmiWest

Intuitionbase to exhibit at AmiWest 2015 for the 5th year. Rep Eldee Stephens has become a regular for Intuitionbase at AmiWest for at least the last five years running. He always has something great to present and new Amiga knowledge to share. Speaking of knowledge, go to Intuitionbase to learn more.

Eldee is one of our "new" Amiga fans. Come meet him and hear his story about how he discovered Amiga and why he is so enthusiastic about it. Of course, the fact that he also works for Big Blue (aka IBM) designing microprocessors for them helps increase his level of expertise and conversation greatly.

He's an example of the people you will meet when you attend AmiWest. While we have an online broadcast for people across the planet who really cannot come, they can't meet and personally converse with the many experts who do attend AmiWest. BTW, they're also great people. We all have a great time! Come and join us!

2. September 2, 2015 Newest AmigaOS SDK published!

AmigaOS Developer Team Lead Steven Solie finishes intial SDK testing.

The newest SDK for AmigaOS 4.x is now out! Go here for more information. You can also download a copy and install it on your OS4 machine for development work.

Steve has been hard at work, along with a team of testers, to bring this NEW SDK in time for the AmiWest 2015 DevCon. This will occur in Sacramento, CA in conjunction with AmiWest 2015. Date for the DevCon are October 15-16, 2015. The cost is $50 total for the two-day DevCon. That just pays for the space. Steve does this for free.

And Steve is typical of the many experts loaning their time and expertise to advance AmigaOS. Come to AmiWest and meet him. He will also be presenting at the show as well as representing Hyperion there.

3. September 3, 2015 Amigadave to exhibit at AmiWest 2015

Amigadave Morris will be bringing his exhibit to AmiWest

Amigadave, aka Dave Morris, will exhibit at AmiWest this year. So what is he bringing? He didn't exactly tell us, except to note that the exhibit would include MorphOS. I've seen his MorphOS setup and it is worth the trip to see it.

Dave has been among our most consistent AmiWest supporters over the years. We have always appreciated his community-minded way of thinking about Amiga that includes everyone who is running "legacy software" on their machines, be it MorphOS, AROS, emulation, Amiga classic or Amiga NG hardware.

Come and meet Amigadave at AmiWest this year. I'm sure that you'll find him friendly and engaging in the true spirit of Amiga.

How much. After you have registered for the DevCon, you will receive a PayPal invoice for the $50.00 fee through the email address you provide. 5. September 10, 2015 AmigaOS DevCon Docs now online!

Steven Solie has posted new DevCon docs for 2015

AmigaOS developer team leader Steven Solie has posted new DevCon docs for the 2015 session. A syllabus and a setup link for the DevCon gives everyone a look ahead at some of the material to be covered.

While the approach is more "formal" this year, be prepared to have fun! This group of developers and would-be coders has a fun edge as well as a serious side. "Remember when computing was fun?" These people are bringing that to life in new ways.

So if you're still thinking about it. . . decide to come now! The links to the new docs are here. And the signup links are in the September 9 post on this blog page.

AmiWest 2015 and associated events will be October 14-18, 2015 at the Holiday Inn Express, 2224 Auburn Blvd., Sacramento, CA. Make your plans to attend now. 6. September 13, 2015 NEW AmiWest banner by Mason!

Martin "Mason" Merz, masonicons.de, gives AmiWest a 30th anniversary year banner!

Martin "Mason" Merz, author of AISS icons, has contributed a fine new AmiWest banner to celebrate 30 years of Amiga. He was also the artist for our previous AmiWest banner, which he has incorporated into this new image.

We want to thank you, "Mason," for adding your art to our show! He also had good things to say about AmiWest. We hope to see him sometime in the future, whenever he can make it to Sacramento for AmiWest.

Your opportunity to attend Amiga 30th at AmiWest comes next month! If you haven't already made plans to do so, make your travel and hotel reservations now! See the top of this blog for our hotel reservations link.

AmiWest 2015 and associated events will be October 14-18, 2015 at the Holiday Inn Express, 2224 Auburn Blvd., Sacramento, CA. Make your plans to attend now. 7. September 14, 2015 Amigadave Exhibit Update

Amigadave to bring MorphOS display to AmiWest 2015

Amigadave has updated his status at AmiWest 2015. He is bringing his MorphOS setup, including (we believe) a very large monitor setup, to AmiWest 2015. If you haven't seen it, you need to attend to see this exhibit and experience MorphOS.

He is also sent this message to us. He wanted us to . . ."announce that I will be donating a 1.42GHz G4 iBook to be raffled during  the show & selling embroidered MorphOS t-shirts at AmiWest this year. See you next month." My guess is that it will be at least able to run (if not already installed and running) a version of MorphOS. And those shirts are sure to be a limited edition.

So now you have another reason to come to Amiga 30th at AmiWest 2015! While Dave always stresses to us that he is just an enthusiast, not a MorphOS "expert," we're sure that what he's bringing is worth seeing. You'll have a chance to see a great MorphOS setup in action.

You know the dates and times. If not, see above and below. Just be sure to make your travel arrangements now. Don't delay! There are only 32 days until AmiWest opens!

8. September 15, 2015 About those banquet reservations. . .

Banquet reservations link update

If you tried to reserve your banquet tickets between Friday and now, you encountered a broken reservation link. Attempts to update the link by a person not knowledgeable about the form software caused this situation.

Fortunately, one Bill Borsari, author of the page, took time out to fix it. Our sincere appreciation goes to Bill for spending his time to support AmiWest 2015 in this way.

Bill also does a lot throughout the year for AmiWest. In fact, he is a most enthusiastic supporter on our AmiWest team. It's a larger team now and we'll talk about them in a future post.

So please revisit the link at the top of this blog to book your banquet reservations now. Please remember that banquet tickets are NOT AVAILABLE AT THE SHOW. Due to an increasingly large load on our caterer, we must give a count to them at least two weeks before the show. That leaves only 17 days to make your reservations.

See you in October, 31 days from now!

9. September 16, 2015 AmiWest Exhibitors Announce Theme

AmiWest exhibitors PJ Sadlik and Alex Carmona reveal booth name

AmigaOS experts PJ Sadlik and Alex Carmona will exhibit at AmiWest 2015. Both of these men are experts in AmigaOS programming and applications. And they have come up with a new booth this year for Amiga 30th at AmiWest 2015.

Here is the information they have supplied.

10. September 23, 2015 AMUC to sponsor AmiWest 2015

Amiga Users of Calgary Sponsor AmiWest 30th celebration

Amiga Users of Calgary have just called to confirm their sponsorship of AmiWest 2015! We always like to see the involvement of other user groups. AMUC has really stepped up their involvement this year by sponsoring AmiWest.

Come see and talk with AMUC member (and, I believe, president) Steven Solie. You may recognize his name from his other Amiga involvements. AMUC and Steve are among our strongest supporters here at AmiWest. They are also advancing the cause of Amiga significantly on an ongoing basis.

So welcome, AMUC! We look forward to what you are bringing to the show. Of course, you won't know what that is unless you come.

11. September 24, 2015 Hyperion confirms as AmiWest 2015 sponsor

Hyperion's new leadership confirm company's sponsorship of AmiWest

Hyperion Entertainment has confirmed that they will sponsor AmiWest 2015. Under new leadership, Hyperion continues their support of AmiWest to further promote AmiWest, both as a community gathering and as a developers conference.

Hyperion has given us AmigaOS 4 in its past and current forms. They have delivered where others have simply spoken of delivering. Without Hyperion, current development would not be what it is now. We greatly appreciate their contribution to the community and to the AmiWest show, especially in the dark days that are now past.

Welcome to the show, Hyperion. You will have a chance to speak with Hyperion developer team lead Steven Solie and members of his team if you come to AmiWest. You can learn first-hand what is coming and what is currently being done to develop AmigaOS and software for the AmigaOS environment.

AmiWest 2015 and associated events will be October 14-18, 2015 at the Holiday Inn Express, 2224 Auburn Blvd., Sacramento, CA. Make your plans to attend now. 13. September 26, 2015 About those room reservations. . .

Call the front desk if the web reservations form fails

We have received reports of failure to display all room options at the Holiday Inn Express for AmiWest 2015. Our reporter indicated that he then called the toll-free number (listed on AmiWest.net) and got right through to the AmiWest rate and all room options.

Be sure to tell the front desk people that you are reserving for the AmiWest show. We have blocks of rooms reserved for each night of the show, October 14-18, 2015, checking out (at the latest) on October 19. Our online reservation code is "AMI" (no quotes). That should give you the AmiWest choices and rates.

We are working closely with the hotel to be sure that everyone gets the room they want. We even have an overflow hotel on the same property if we exceed our capacity there. So we can accomodate you. Please click the link at the top of this blog page to make your reservations online or through the hotel front desk.

14. September 27, 2015 Inertial Computing to exhibit at AmiWest 2015!

First-time exhibitor Inertial Computing at AmiWest 2015

We welcome Inertial Computing to AmiWest 2015 for the first time! We are always interested in new exhibitors. Inertial Computing is new to AmiWest for 2015. Welcome!

Here is the information about their enterprise from Inertial's website. The exhibitor, Alex Perez, is no stranger to AmiWest. Indeed, he has been part of the AmiWest Broadcast team for years. He is also an AmigaOS beta-tester and developer. "Inertial Computing is a Silicon-valley based think [tank] dedicated to developing and engaging the Amiga hardware and software development community and enabling creative re-use of what others may consider antiquated and/or obsolete computer technology."

Come and see what he is bringing to the show. The link on amiwest.net reveals some interesting projects. And we were just informed that he will have the new SCSI25DB adapter available for sale. This adapts an old SCSI interface to a micro SD card. You've got to come and get it at AmiWest!

AmiWest 2015 and associated events will be October 14-18, 2015 at the Holiday Inn Express, 2224 Auburn Blvd., Sacramento, CA. Make your plans to attend now. 18. September 29, 2015 Ron Nicholson at AmiWest 2015!

Ron Nicholson, A1000 hardware engineer, will present at AmiWest 2015!

Ron Nicholson who, along with Jay Miner and Joe Decuir, designed the hardware for the A1000, has just confirmed that he will present at AmiWest 2015! He is "pulling out all the stops" to present for us just after arriving back in the US after a European trip.

Here's a little about Ron from the Amiga 30th celebration speaker's information bulletin.Ron founded HotPaw Productions, developing apps since the app store first opened. His long career includes working as product and system architect for many famous tech companies such as Wyse (now part of Dell), Agate Logic, and Silicon Graphics. His SGI work included developing interactive television systems and consumer multimedia/3D graphics ASICs (U.S. patent 6,275,239). He also designed a portion of the Nintendo 64 Reality Co-Processor, and was involved in the design of ASICs for the MIPS Magic Carpet and digital video servers.

He studied engineering and math at UC Berkeley, designing a RISC CPU for Dr. Sequin's CS152A class. He later worked at Apple Computer on Apple II peripherals including the "Super Serial Card," the "Integrated Woz Machine" disc controller ASIC, and the CMOS clock chip for the original Macintosh (case signatures, Mac 128K through SE), as well as the Apple IIc.

In 1983, he was one of the founders of Amiga Corp., where he was a lead hardware architect of the Amiga 1000 along with Jay Miner and Joe DeCuir and graphics chip set architecture designer (Amiga case signatures, U.S. patents 4,777,621;4,874,164;5,103,499;5,594,473).

You don't want to miss his presentation. We've told him he can have all the time he wants to have. The presentation is scheduled for Saturday the 17th at 11 AM.

AmiWest 2015 and associated events will be October 14-18, 2015 at the Holiday Inn Express, 2224 Auburn Blvd., Sacramento, CA. Make your plans to attend now. 19. September 30, 2015 Take 2 demo at AmiWest 2015

Take 2, animation software for Amiga, to be available to the Amiga community

Dan Schallock, new SACC member and long-time Amiga animator, announced September 27 that Take 2 animation software has been released into his domain. Dan now has the 68K software and assembly source code in his possession.

Take 2 is a great piece of Amiga software. The developer has continued to update it for other current platforms and was not using the 68K version. The developer has released the code as a donation to the Amiga community.

From Animator Mag, here is a description:

"Taking an entirely different approach to animation sequencing is Take 2 from Rombo. This really is an animation package for animators. In fact, it was originally written by Geert Vergauwe as a line tester program when he was a student at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts. If the anims, animbrushes, scenes, parts and videos of Deluxe Video sound daunting, then fear not. Take 2 terminology is extremely traditional. Cels are loaded into a Picture Panel either after being created in another art package (such as Deluxe Paint), or automatically if you grab them with a Vidi Amiga digitizer (also made by Rombo).

Take 2 controls the Vidi Amiga digitizer directly from a special digitizer screen. The program automatically numbers drawings as they are digitized, and even speaks their name out loud to confirm that it has done so!

Once cells are loaded into Take 2's Picture Panel, they can be pasted into a four-level exposure sheet. A Cell Panel controls how many times and where they are inserted. The mouse can then be used to drag cells about and to increase or decrease their duration on screen. Sound samples can also be pasted onto the extreme left of the exposure sheet. Once you are ready to play the animation, simply select Flipper and the animation will run at either 24 or 25fps as selected. A VCR style panel is utilised as in other programs to step through animations when in this Flipper mode."

So come and see it at AmiWest 2015! The demo will be on Saturday afternoon. Be sure to come see it run and hear Dan describe how he used it as part of our celebration of 30 years of Amiga.

1. October 2, 2015 Sacramento weather report

Fall in California predicted to be summer

Summer weather is predicted for AmiWest 2015. Temperatures are predicted to range in the 80-90 degrees Fahrenheit range. Skies are predicted to be clear with no precipitation of any kind.

Of course, we would rather see cooler temperatures and rain. And remembering that weather prognosticators are often wrong, some sort of warmer wrap might be appropriate, especially if your plan is to visit the Sierras.

In any case, AmiWest 2015 and associated events will be October 14-18, 2015 at the Holiday Inn Express, 2224 Auburn Blvd., Sacramento, CA. Make your plans to attend now. If you've attended before, bring one other person who is new to the show. If this will be your first time, welcome to the show! 2. October 3, 2015 DevCon openings available

A few spots remain for the 2015 DevCon

Just in case you were wondering, a few spots remain available for the AmiWest 2015 DevCon. Steven Solie, developer team lead for AmigaOS, is currently finishing his preparations for the sessions which begin on October 15 at 9:30 AM.

And if you are already signed up and arriving on Wednesday evening, setup for the sessions will begin then. The idea is to set up all the connections and machinery with power, ethernet and software so that the sessions may begin at 9:30 sharp Thursday morning.

3. October 4, 2015 Banquet tickets still available

Time is running out!

Tickets for the AmiWest 2015 banquet are still available! Our time is getting short for giving the count to our caterer. They need to know within this next week so that they can adequately prepare for us.

Don't delay - reserve today! Use the online form (see the top of this blog) or send email to info@amiwest.net with your name, email, and the number of tickets you want. We will then invoice you through PayPal. We need to have a firm count for the caterer by this time next week!

See you at AmiWest!

4. October 5, 2015 About those Banquet Tickets. . .(Part 2)

Here is the "other way" to reserve your banquet tickets.

Although most of our attenders can use PayPal, some do not. For a wide variety of reasons, some cannot or do not use PayPal. We respect that and have an alternative for reserving your banquet tickets.

Here is the "other way" to reserve. If you don't have the ability to employ PayPal, send the email anyway to info@amiwest.net with your name, email and the number of tickets you want. We will hold tickets for you at the show. Please pay with cash at the show so we can avoid depositing a lot of checks, since our ability to deposit checks is limited by our free account at the bank.

In any case, do it NOW! We really need to know how many to reserve with the caterer. Just let us know by using the online link (see the top of this blog for the link) or by sending email to us as above.

5. October 6, 2015 The UNannounced surprises

UNannounced surprises always a part of AmiWest

AmiWest is often full of surprises. Companies and developers continue to prepare for AmiWest right up to the time the show opens. Thus, many advancements are not available until the show starts.

We're certain that this will be the case for 2015 as it has been in the past. New hardware and software, as well as new downloadable content, often make their world premiere appearance at AmiWest.

But you won't be among the first to see it if you don't come. You can talk with those making the announcements about the latest projects when you attend AmiWest in person.

6. October 7, 2015 AmiWest Broadcast sponsors AmiWest 2015!

AmiWest Broadcast enhanced corporate sponsor of AmiWest 2015!

We want to express our appreciation to AmiWest Broadcast for sponsoring AmiWest 2015! As many of you know, AmiWest Broadcast has been broadcasting the AmiWest show since the beginning in 1998. In fact, Bill Borsari actually authored the script for the original broadcast while at AmiWest 1998.

Since then, many enhancements have been added. Now, video and audio are broadcast through a dedicated YouTube channel. All this has happened since 1998.

Thank you, AmiWest Broadcast, for keeping us "on the air" for 17 years! Your sponsorship is just another expression of support for AmiWest and we really appreciate it. Support like this is what keeps the show going.

We have a few tickets left. If we know you're coming, we can put more on the list. If we don't know you're coming, we can't reserve for you. It's just that simple. Make your banquet reservations today.

8. October 9, 2015 About those Banquet Tickets. . .(Part 3)

9. October 10, 2015 AmiWest - all about the people!

AmiWest - its all about the people!

At AmiWest, the show has always been about the people. AmiWest was originally founded on the premise that we could have a yearly "store" to buy things to keep our Amiga computers running. Since then, it has expanded to include announcements by product developers of hardware and software, again with that "keep our Amigas running" idea in view.

Along the way, many people have come to support our show. What we do is provide a place for people to come, meet, and share knowledge about Amiga. In the process, many friendships have formed that cover many years of association.

So come and enjoy the party! We always have room for more. And we want you to come and be a part, whether you're a regular attender or new to the show.

See you this week!

10. October 11, 2015 About those Banquet Tickets. . . (Part 4)

RESERVE TODAY!

We really do have to give a count to our caterer. In some years, we have taken a risk and reserved more than we had reservations for. But we always try to have an accurate count for the caterer.

It's not too late to reserve. But do it today, so we can include your name on the list. It's OK to pay at the show, but we need to know NOW that you are coming.

Please use the reservation link at the top of the page. If it doesn't work, send email to info@amiwest.net with your name, email address, and the number of tickets you want to reserve. They are $30.00 for each ticket.

Don't delay - do it now!

AmiWest 2015 begins on Friday night at 5 PM with the Classic Clinic!

The 2015 AmiWest Classic Clinic happens this Friday, October 16! Bring your Amiga Classic machine to AmiWest for repair, upgrade and/or troubleshooting. Amiga techs will be there to help.

Be sure to bring the parts you need. We will try to have some generic parts there, such as capacitors, but we can't hope to cover all that you might need. If you need help determining what you need, email to Dan Kloczko at amigauser [at] aol.com. He is the SACC "Abyss" manager.

And there's free food, too! We'll have sandwich stuff (bread and cold cuts, cheese and condiments) to keep you going. Everything starts at 5 PM and runs until we're done, so if you can't come right at 5, just come when you can. We're often there long into the night. . .

AmiWest 2015 and associated events will be October 14-18, 2015 at the Holiday Inn Express, 2224 Auburn Blvd., Sacramento, CA. Make your plans to attend now. 12. October 20, 2015 AmiWest 2015 is History!

AmiWest 2015, celebrating 30 years of Amiga, is "in the books."

We came, we saw, we celebrated 30 years of Amiga at AmiWest 2015! Many of the major players in the AmiVerse were with us this past weekend to celebrate Amiga. We had seven show sponsors and four exhibitors who paid the bill for our hotel conference facilities to present AmiWest to the world.

Show reports are in the works. What we do at AmiWest is provide a place for people to come, meet, and share knowledge about Amiga. In the process, many friendships have formed that cover many years of association. We saw many of our friends at AmiWest 2015 and strengthened those connections in many ways.

We really enjoyed the party! What began as a way to buy Amiga hardware and software has evolved into a very productive DevCon, demo platform for software and hardware new and old, and a significant Amiga social event.

There were several new attenders this year and we always have room for more. We want you to come and be a part in 2016, whether you're a regular attender or new to the show.

Dates for AmiWest 2016 will be announced soon!

AmiWest 2016 and associated events will be at the Holiday Inn Express, 2224 Auburn Blvd., Sacramento, CA. Make your plans to attend now. If you've attended before, bring one other person who is new to the show. If this will be your first time, welcome to the show! See our website at amiwest.net for the latest information and watch this blog for breaking AmiWest 2016 news.
